GBAJUMO ADEREMI OLUBUNMI (MRS)– Registrar of Titles

Aderemi Olubunmi Gbajumo is a Lawyer and a Chief Magistrate (Admin).

Her Primary Education commenced at the ‘Charles Hulse School, Ottawa Canada’ and ended at the ‘International School of Tanganyika, Dar – es – Salaam, Tanzania’ between 1973 to 1980. Her Secondary Education continued at the ‘British School of Brussels Belgium, Europe’ (“O” Level) from 1982 to 1986. She returned to Nigeria and attended the ‘Federal Government Girls College Oyo, Oyo State’ for her Higher School Certificate (“A” Level) from 1986 to 1988. She further attended the ‘Ogun State University, Ago Iwoye, Ogun State’ (LLB) from 1989 to 1994 and attended the ‘Nigerian Law School, Victoria Island Lagos’ (BL) from 1994 to 1995. In the quest of further academic pursuit she applied to and gained admission at the Ghana School of Law, Accra, Ghana (BL) in the year 2000.                                                                                   She obtained a Master’s Degree from the ‘The University of South Wales, United Kingdom (LLM)’ in2021.

She began her work experience at Guardian Trust Savings and Loans, SW Ikoyi as an NYSC Attache where she was retained on a full time basiswith the job description: ‘Banking Executive’.  

She thereafter practiced law, attached to a few Law firms to obtain relevant experience. She also worked as a Legal Officer for various Private establishments. 

She was appointed a Magistrate Grade II with the Lagos State Judiciary in 1998 and left in 1999 due to novel marital responsibilities and also to gain additional academic credits. 

She was re-appointed a Magistrate Grade II with the Lagos State Judiciary in the year 2002 and rose steadily to the position of Chief Magistrate (Admin); Grade Level 17. 

As a Magistrate, alongside her regular duties several ad hoc duties were delegated to her, such as being appointed a Coroner from the year 2013 to 2017, Member of the Lagos State Local Government Election Tribunal 2021, Head of the Litigation Department, Ikeja; an Administration and Management position from 1st November 2017 till 1st February 2024 and to several Committees. 

She has been honored with the responsibility of being a resource person for the training of both Newly appointed Magistrates and Non Legal Staff of the Lagos State Judiciary.

She also belongs to the following Professional/Social Associations:                               

• Member, Commonwealth Magistrates and Judges Association                                            

• Member, Magistrates Association of Nigeria, Lagos Branch                                                                                                 

• Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC)                  

• Member of the Lagos State Scout Council, The Scout Association of Nigeria.

She has been privileged to attend several training programs both locally and Internationally, with regard to various subject matter, such as; Dispute Resolution/ ADR, Restorative Justice, Forensic Document Examination Training, Plea Bargaining, Court Management and Administration, Implementation of the ACJL, Virtual Court Hearings, Domestic Violence and Judicial Ethics amongst several additional themes.

She is a good listener and learner and she is capable of communicating well with a group and also on an individual level. 

On the 16th December 2022 she was conferred with an Award of Excellence in recognition of her excellence, hard work and dedication to the Lagos State Judiciary in her capacity as the HOD, Litigation, Ikeja by the Hon, Chief Judge of Lagos State; Hon Justice KazeemO. Alogba. 

She was appointed The Registrar of Titles Lands Registry, Lagos State Lands Bureau, Alausa, Ikeja in February 2024.

She is married with Children.
